The New and Improved Nicole Cronje!
05.05.2010
I can't believe that I am well into my third year of working from home and following my dream! I'ts been a bit of a rollercoaster but I wouldnt take any of it back.
I've titled this blog as such because I finally have got my creative/crazy/flexible/disorganised self into a really good routine! Yay! It took two and a half years but I got there... uh.. that's the main thing right?
I am now Super Nicole, I have lists for my lists and every second of my day is scheduled and then re-scheduled in a more prioritised and practical manner! The organisation bug has filtered through into all areas of my life and I can't believe how much I am following in the footsteps of the women in my family. My Mother is organised to the point of being OCD and it was definately inherited from my Gran. My sister has always displayed the gene and I thought it had passed me over, but i think i'm just a late bloomer!
Inspiration has been flowing out of me since my last blog and my hippy girl (which turned into the artwork called 'Prayers" btw). So much so in fact that i have been neglecting my other duties such as blogging (eek) which is why I have had to re asses my timetable and actually schedule in the things I tend to procrastinate a little too much on.
I've recently set up a facebook page for my art called I HEART ART. I really like the categorisation of the layout of my work on the group. It's a lot more of a user-friendly display on how I work, my subject matter and topics that I explore with my art. I am going to be working on adjusting my website gallery to follow suit.
An interesting development in my art recently is that I have been working on pieces that are a lot larger than my normal style. My work is now stretching the limits of the A0 Ariston paper that I use.
I have just finished 'The Chandelier' and I really loved working on this piece. I will be doing a series of larger works from now on. The next artwork I will be starting tomorrow is going to be an experimentation with birdcages, butterflies and shimmering backgrounds. I'm looking forward to it!
